The Microsoft Security organization accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate.

We are looking for a Senior Director of Financial Operations to manage all financially related business operations across our group. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, running and oversight of various department wide operational processes across the CISO Organization. This role will directly report to our Corporate Vice President of Chief Security Information Officer (CISO) Operations.

In leading Financial Operations, you will be thinking holistically and proactively to improve the effectiveness of the overall organization, its processes and its people. Responsibilities

Financial Operations

Own responsibility for the design, running and oversight of various internal DSR business operations. Examples to include:

  • Oversee multi-year budgeting and planning process for a $1B budget

  • Oversee people operations management (tracking of hiring, transfers, offboarding, etc.) across a 5,000+ person global organization

  • Oversee procurement processes across all of Microsoft Digital Security

  • Oversee 3 rd party risk on behalf of the CISO organization

  • Oversee the process of monitoring and optimizing internal cloud spend of $100M

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years managing large scale business operations with a focus on financial management for a globally distributed organization

Other Requirements

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience managing business operations for a globally distributed team of at least 1,000 people

  • Experience operating at an executive level of external 3rd party vendors and partners

  • 5+ years experience managing a budget of > $500m

  • 5+ years of experience managing 3rd party risk at an enterprise level

  • 5+ years experience in procurement / negotiations with 3rd party vendors and service providers

  • 5+ years experience managing a cloud spend of at least $100M

Business Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
