Optum Insight is seeking a service-oriented Strategy Analyst to provide analytical insights to business development, service line, growth, consumer experience, and marketing leaders by adoption of data-driven decision making to support optimization within client health systems. You will be part of an Analytics team that specializes in the Strategy domain within the Center of Excellence. This role will be responsible for leading efforts to liberate data and insights for the Strategic domains.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create analytical insights to support market growth, service line operations, consumer experience, marketing, and other related areas

  • Analyze and interpret market, demographic, financial, and healthcare data to identify trends, and present findings to key stakeholders

  • Collaborate with strategic and service line leaders to understand their business and provide insights to support decision-making

  • Ensure effective documentation processes throughout all the entire analytical lifecycle

  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to all relevant levels of leadership in order to facilitate the adoption of analytics

  • Act as a subject matter expert in one of the following areas: hospital business development, service line operations, consumer experience, marketing, growth, strategic finance

  • Create processes and accountability for the continuous rationalization of the strategic and service line analytics portfolio

  • Partner with analytical platform teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in aggregation and alignment of foundational data assets needed to power strategic analytics

  • Partner with other subject matter domain leaders to infuse insights into the decision-making process for physician network, population health, value-based care, finance, and other health system analytics focus areas

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience with knowledge and background in health system analytics

  • 2+ years of experience of strategic decision making within a health care delivery system (e.g., hospitals, medical groups, post-acute care organizations, physician practices, ambulatory surgical centers, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience managing analytics projects or initiatives with minimal guidance

  • Demonstrated advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic analytical tools

  • Demonstrated advanced Proficiency in PowerPoint or other Presentation tools

  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL or similar

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Business Intelligence dashboard tools such as PowerBI, QlikView, Tableau

  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in any of the following: Analytics, Finance, Business Development, Consumer Experience, Marketing, Health System Business/Operations

  • 1+ years of experience guiding and developing junior team members

  • Experience with Epic or Cerner data structures and reporting interfaces

  • Experience in consulting engagements or large internal healthcare projects/programs for health care delivery systems

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing, taking audience into consideration

  • Experience and credibility interacting with all levels of leadership

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
