Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director, Specialty MS Degree Programs is responsible for overseeing the successful operation of the Quinlan School’s specialty MS degree programs. This person will build and be a key part of vibrant communities centered around education of working professionals in areas such as analytics, finance, human resource management, marketing, and supply chain. This includes developing and implementing plans with faculty Graduate Program Directors, managing student enrollment and retention, and coordinating with faculty and staff across the school and university to ensure the success of students and programs.
The Assistant Director provides vital support to the specialty MS graduate programs, partnering to engage in programmatic efforts to develop and improve student outcomes. The position will assist in admission and yield events and operations, scheduling courses, new student onboarding and orientation, co-curricular programming, and be a front-line for addressing student questions, resolving registration, scholarship, enrollment, degree completion and other first-line advising issues. In addition, the assitant director conducts research and provides other assistance to improve, market, and promote the programs.
Responsibilities may also include advising dual-degree students such as those completing the MBA and a specialty master’s program.
Responsibilities include:
Meet 1:1 and in small groups with prospective students, answering program related questions
Meet with students for advising consultations at the start of and during their program. Block weekly time periods to complete student advising meetings (offering times that work with student availability)
Review degree progress and confirm completion plans
Develop and implement plans for the specialty MS degree programs
Manage student enrollment and retention for the programs
Develop and implement a student orientation program
Develop Community and Professional engagement opportunities that take place during evening course break time (common hour).
Facilitate a relationship with Graduate Program Directors (Master’s and Executive Programs) to ensure the success of the programs
Develop and manage the budget for the programs
Market and promote the programs to prospective students
Troubleshoot application issues with enrollment management operations
Review applications for admission and apply criteria to make decisions
Facilitate a strong working relationship with Graduate Program Directors (Master’s and Executive Programs). Partner with program directors to waive program requirements

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred
3+ years of experience in program management or a related field
Our graduate courses take place during evening hours. The Assistant Director will be available to work alternative hours (i.e., delayed start time) to facilitate student programming.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Adept user of Internet, e-mail and other office automation systems.
