Manufacture, assemble and package Steel Ceilings products to produce needed items in the pursuit of customers’ orders as directed by Manufacturing Manager.
Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Policies.
Assemble materials and package finished products for transport to customers.
Operate machinery or stations as instructed by the Team Leader to meet scheduled demands.
Ensure that the standards for quality, output, safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
Keep accurate records of production, waste, quality checks undertaken.
Properly maintain equipment.
Maintain a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, one’s self, nor the environment.
Commit to and follow the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.
Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
Conform to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain clean and organized work area.
Sweep floors and empty trash containers daily, and maintain a clean working environment.
_Education and Experience_
Prior manufacturing, assembly, material movement or machine operator experience preferred.
Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials, fabrication processes and machinery preferred.
Ability to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles.
Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license if required.
Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes: Hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
_General_: Report inventory discrepancies. Record any scrap on scrap sheet. Maintain a clean safe working area including sweeping, opening scrap, emptying dumpsters, poly box, paper box, trash cans, etc. Train crew members. Observe all safety precautions and plant regulations to prevent injury to self and others or damage to material or equipment. Participate in plant safety process. Perform miscellaneous duties as required or requested by Supervisor

About the Location (Johnstown, OH)
Our Johnstown manufacturing plant, one of nine Armstrong ceiling plants in North America, employs approximately 25 people across 1 shift who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Steel Ceilings products.
