Description

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our clients accounting team based in Hicksville, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts payable duties, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and timely

• Manage accounts receivable, tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues

• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

• Maintain fixed assets records and calculate depreciation

Requirements • Proficiency in the management of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately

• Experience in creating and maintaining journal entries

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Proficiency in using accounting software tools

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting

• Understanding of, and ability to adhere to, all accounting and reporting standards.
