Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Main focus will be on steel door design and application of
• Collaborate with senior designer and project engineers to ensure that products are designed according to specifications and meet customer requirements
• Act as the subject matter expert for specific product line (e.g., doors)
• Partner with project management, engineering, and R&D to continuously improve current product portfolio and define future product direction and strategy 
• Contribute to the development of products that better-meet customer needs and provide a competitive advantage in terms of design, install, or otherwise 
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, or in lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience performing in a similar role 
• Knowledge of DOS standards, FE/BR standards, and spec requirements (preferred but not required) 
• Proficiency in Autodesk products and understanding of project management, document control, and product lifecycle management software 
• Thorough understanding of design principles 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail 
• Ability to travel occasionally both domestically & internationally

Physical Environment:

Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit throughout an extended workday (8-10 hours) with occasional walking into other areas of the manufacturing facility; position requires use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position requires the ability to talk and hear; position may need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations.  On occasion the noise level may be loud due to various equipment in use in the manufacturing facility.
