As Capital Engineering Manager you will provide strong leadership, project execution, and engineering support to our Marietta ceiling manufacturing facility. In this highly visible role, you will be accountable for our overall capital planning process and work collaboratively with senior leaders to identify and allocate strategic capital spending to create capacity and capability across our global platform. You will lead a team of 8-12 engineers and process specialists responsible for executing capital projects and providing engineering/technical services.
*Key Areas of Responsibility:*
Global Capital Management
capital planning process for capital spending ranging between $8M to $20M
Partner with business leaders to allocate and optimize plant spending on high-value investments
Develop a portfolio of potential opportunities to lower cost or improve/add capacity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing project objectives, business cases, capital cost estimates and timelines for investment in new initiatives and technologies
Leadership & Organizational Development
Identify skill gaps and proactively lead the hiring and onboarding of new engineering talent
Actively engage in coaching and career development discussions and coaching
Prioritize capital engineering resources to optimize utilization while stretching and developing talent
Provide technical leadership and recommendations to project teams, peers and senior leaders
Establish the required management systems to ensure the effective performance of engineering work
Create standard work and implement best practices
Build metric dashboards and review processes
Sponsor or champion kaizen events to drive rapid process improvement
*Required Qualifications and Skills*
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of least 5 years in an engineering or operations leadership role
Background in capital project management
Experience with reliability techniques, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and/or Predictive/Preventive Maintenance
Able to travel up to 10%
