Position: Deputy Clerk Intern Agency: Common Pleas Clerk of Courts

 

Minimum Qualifications:

· Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a major course work in legal studies, public administration, business administration or a related field; and,

· 6 -- 18 months of experience and/or training in related field

Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):

Accuracy and efficiency; excellent customer service; ability to maintain positive relationships with co-workers and other departments / offices. Basic computer skills and familiarity with other office equipment / technology; previous experience within the legal field preferred. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

 

Hours: Full-Time, 8am-4:30pm Salary: Starting at $18.00 / hour

 

Summary:

Under general supervision, provides customer service on behalf of the Clerk of Courts; assists public and performs various duties related to departmental operations.

 

Duties:

· Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.

· Assists general public and attorneys in person, by telephone, and by email.

· Dockets, scans, and processes court documents.

· Conducts research in relation to public records requests.

· Prepares and maintains records as required; prepares various types of correspondence.

· Must responsibly handle public moneys and secured documents.

· Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.

· Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
