Job Summary

Seasonal job. Responsible for preparing broken and eroding pavement on rural roads. Repairs roadways and rights-of-way and clears debris from roads.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Patch potholes.
• Operate machinery.
• Repair detached or dented guardrails.
• Set up cones and signs to alert motorists.
• Clear off debris.
• Mow or clear brush from roads.
• Lay asphalt.
• Remove trees from roads.
• Operate motor graders, brooms, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, or similar equipment.
• Patrol roads for hazard and maintenance/repair needs.
• Place stop signs and speed limit signs along road.
• Remove roadkill.
• Fill road washouts and clean storm drains.
• Inspect and maintain operating equipment.
• Install and clean culverts.
• Flag traffic to form a detour around construction.
• Change vehicle fluids, including grease and oils.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
• Normal hours Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30, with limited call ins or holdovers.
• CDL and a clean driving record required.
• Steel-toed boots required.
