The Opportunity:

Under general guidance and direction of the Division Director -- Environmental Health, supervises assigned health programs and services in Utah County.  Professional duties include training, assigning, directing, and monitoring the work of others.  The Bureau Director is an expert resource in the field or function over which he or she presides.

 

Grade:

Bureau Director -- Environmental Health -- 729

Bureau Director -- Air Quality - 728

 

Starting Pay:  

Bureau Director -- Environmental Health - $88,379.20 - $101,608.00

Bureau Director -- Air Quality - $82,409.60 - $94,764.80

 

Schedule: Monday -- Friday, 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.- may be required to work occasional nights and weekends

 

Job Qualifications:

Bureau Director -- Environmental Health

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university that includes thirty (30) semester hours in the natural sciences or a closely related field.

2. Five (5) years of experience as a Licensed Environmental Health Scientist.

3. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

    

Applicant must possess and maintain licensure through the State of Utah as an Environmental Health Scientist.

 

Bureau Director -- Air Quality

1. Associate degree related to automotive or diesel mechanics, or certification as an ASE Master Mechanic.

2. Seven (7) years of related mechanical experience of which a minimum of one (1) year is supervisory or program management experience.

3. Equivalent combinations of education, certification, and experience may also be consid ered.

    

Applicant must possess and maintain the following Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications:

Engine Repair Certification (A1)

Automatic Transmission Certification (A2)

Electrical Systems Certification (A6)

Engine Performance Certification (A8)

 

Preference may be given to applicants with ASE Master Mechanic certification.

 

Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:

1. Preference may be given to applicants with supervisory or lead experience.
