Qualifications
- B.A. / B.S. Degree in Education
- Valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate
- Interest in working with children with learning difficulties
- Demonstrated skill in diagnosis of children with learning problems in math and reading
Position Description Provides Instructional Leadership for Title I Programming
Duties
- Coordinates the formulating and writing of Title I programs to include, but not limited to the annual Consolidated Grant and School Improvement Plans
- Coordinates the efforts to assure successful implementations of the Title I programs
- Performs the needed administrative tasks for effective, and smooth, implementation of the Title I program
- Coordinates with the teachers (Math and Reading) in directing the work of the staff in carrying out the intent of the Title I program
- Works with other administration in planning and implementing the program in each of the eligible schools
- Works directly with school staff in carrying out the Title I program in the schools, including completion of the time distributions reports
- Identifies needs and plans with the administration for the pre-service and in-service sessions for instructional staff
- Coordinates and conducts pre-service and in-service sessions for instructional staff
- Maintains a program of regular visitation for assurance of compliance with all Title I guidelines
- Identifies and submits purchase orders for materials, teaching supplies, and equipment required for the Title I program. Works closely with the School Districts Business Manager
- Coordinates the testing program; selecting, ordering, and collecting tests required for eligibility and for evaluation of the Title I programs
- Cooperates with the administration and instructional staff for parent involvement activities
- Provides information, as needed, to the Coordinator of Special Education
- Attends local staff meetings of administrative and supervisory personnel and attends area and state professional meetings upon approval
